God Exposes It..You surrender it.. Then What?

Your fruit will be tested.

I asked God to strengthen the fruit of self-control in my life.

And ya girl was naive to think I wasn’t going to be tested in the very thing I had just asked God to strengthen.

Whew😮💨

Almost immediately, situations started happening.

Rapidly💨

And because I was aware of my tendency to be blunt and speak my mind, I asked the Holy Spirit to bridal my tongue.

And every single time a situation arose, the Holy Spirit would say:

“BE QUIET” 🤫

Fam, every time I bit my tongue, I felt like I was losing myself. But in reality, I wasn’t losing myself—I’m losing my flesh. The old me wanted to react, defend, and have the last word (still do 🫠) But God is teaching me that sometimes maturity looks like silence.

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their corrupt nature along with its passions and desires.” Galatians‬ ‭5‬:24

And if I’m being completely honest, these past few days I have cried in my car out of pure frustration.

Because fam, healing and surrendering is not always pretty.

Sometimes it looks like tears.

Sometimes it looks like silence.

Sometimes it looks like biting your tongue.

Sometimes it looks like wrestling with your flesh.

And to be honest, I’m literally living this out right now as I write.

Can I encourage you?

As God exposes.

As He reveals.

As you surrender those hidden things in your heart…

Expect your fruit to be tested.

Not because God is trying to punish you.

But because He is producing something in you.

“Now all discipline seems to be painful at the time, yet later it will produce a transformation of character, bringing a harvest of righteousness and peace to those who yield to it.”

Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭11‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Pruning doesn’t feel good.

Correction doesn’t feel good.

Exposure doesn’t feel good.

But God disciplines those He loves.

“For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.” Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Here’s the good news:

You don’t have to pass the test in your own strength.

Because when you call on the Lord, He is near.

“The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.”
— Psalm 145:18

Fam, if you’re in a season where God is exposing things…

If you’re in a season where you feel tested…

If you’re in a season where you keep finding yourself in situations that are pulling on the very area you surrendered…

Be encouraged.

Don’t run from the test.

Pass the test.

Because what God is producing in you is greater than what He’s removing from you.

And remember…

Fruit isn’t proven when life is easy.

Fruit is proven when it’s tested.
