Collection: Do You have Muffled Hearing? 👂🏾

Over these past few days, ya girl has been walking around with muffled hearing and excruciating pain.

After finally going to the ER, I found out I have a ruptured eardrum and an ear infection 😩

As uncomfortable as it’s been, it got me thinking…

How many of us are walking around with muffled spiritual hearing?

How many of us think we’re hearing God clearly, but there’s something blocking, distorting, or muffling what He’s trying to say?

The Bible talks about this often.

In Hebrews 5:11, the writer speaks of people becoming “dull of hearing”—not because God stopped speaking, but because they had become spiritually sluggish and unable to process deeper truths.

In Zechariah 7:11-12, the people “refused to pay attention” and “stopped their ears” from hearing what God was saying.

Jeremiah 6:10 says:

“Their ears are closed so they cannot hear.”

The problem wasn’t God’s voice.

The problem was their ability and willingness to hear it.

As I sat dealing with this ear pain, I started asking myself:

Lord, where am I muffled?

Where have distractions become louder than Your voice?

Where have I become complacent?

Where have I allowed the noise of life to drown out what You’re saying?

Family, that’s my challenge for you today.

Ask God:

“Father, where am I muffled in my spiritual life?”

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything that may be affecting your spiritual hearing.

Whether it’s distractions, unforgiveness, fear, pride, busyness, disappointment, or simply neglecting time with Him.

🗣️May we hear clearly.

🗣️May we hear sharply.

🗣️May we hear precisely.

🗣️May we discern what thus says the Lord.

What I’ve learned from this unexpected week of resting—not the way I imagined and definitely not the way I wanted—is this:

I never want to live a life without the presence of God.

I never want to become so distracted, busy, or comfortable that His voice becomes muffled in my life.

Because God is always speaking.

The question is:

Are we in a position to hear?

So today, family, continue to pursue God wholeheartedly.

Make room for His voice.

Protect your time with Him.

Lean into His presence.

He loves you deeply.

He is near.

And He is still speaking.

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

— John 10:27

May we hear Him clearly. 🤍
